Halloween is fast becoming one of my favourite holidays, after Christmas of course; so I was super excited to attend a Halloween themed evening with Paperchase at Intu Lakeside. After meeting up with my favourite blogging sisters Lauren and Rachel, we all entered the Intu Lakeside offices where we were greeted with two lovely ladies from Paperchase and a table full of card, ribbon and tissue paper.
After finding out we were making Mexican candy skull headbands, we got stuck straight in. We began by picking the main colour for the headband itself; I chose black so that I could add all the colour when I got to the flowers and it wouldn’t clash. We also had to add some card to the sides of the large ribbon so that we could attach some tassels; for this I chose purple because I had decided I wanted a pink/purple/blue colour scheme.
We cut smaller pieces of ribbon for the tassels so to stick to my chosen colour scheme, I opted for blue but I also decided to pair it with silver as I think the colours really compliment each other. The really fun part came with making the flower pom poms to go on the front. After a bit of fiddly cutting and folding, I had somehow managed to make 5 flowers that looked pretty okay (for the record, I am the least artistic person…ever!). Using double sided tape, we stuck them to our headband and voila, they were complete; and I was pretty proud with how mind came out.
Thank you so much to the lovely ladies from Paperchase and Voice Communications for hosting such a fantastic event, it was so much fun and I had such a great time. Now I have a Halloween costume for every year.
