A Day In Windsor

My sister is studying at Royal Holloway University, so  the other day, me, my mum and dad decided to go and see her and have a day out in Windsor, seeing as it is only about a 20 minute drive away. I have never been there before so I was super excited to go especially after my sister told me how lovely it is there.

The place itself is so quiet and quaint with shops filling the little cobbled streets. It was absolutely amazing. We walked around for hours looking at every single shop there was, which included the cutest flower shop I have ever seen, I couldn’t stop looking at it, it was so pretty.

After exploring the shops, we stopped for coffee in a small cafe called Illy, which sold the nicest lattes and they also sold those little kinder bars so it was a win win really. After sitting having coffee while looking at the castle, we decided it was time to head home much to my disappointment.

I absolutely love Windsor and can’t wait to go back. The whole place has such a calm and peaceful atmosphere and everyone was so lovely which made a nice change from the fast pace of London life. Next time I go back, I have to go inside the castle because from the outside it looked incredible and I bet it looks even better inside.

Have you ever been to Windsor before?

Maple&Whisky Disney Candles

I am a massive Disney fan so when I found Maple and Whisky Candle Co on Etsy, I knew I had to order some. I love nothing more at this time of year; than being all cosy indoors with blankets, hot drinks and scented candles.

I found it so hard to pick a scent as there were so many great ones to choose from like ‘Main Street Bakery’, ‘Plaza Ice Cream’ and ‘Pineapple Whip’, but I finally settled on ‘Mickey Waffles’. Honestly, I can’t tell you how excited I was to receive the candle; every time the mail came, I would run to the front door haha!

The candles itself is 12oz and has a burn time of 80 hours so its going to last a long tie, which, I am so happy about because it smells absolutely amazing! It’s like walking into a cake shop, seriously, I just want to eat it. I am so in love with it and I am already browsing their website for more, especially their Christmas ones. IMG_5538

Lush ‘Catastrophe Cosmetic’ Face Mask

It’s no secret that I am absolutely obsessed with Lush and their products. Recently, I got the ‘Catastrophe Cosmetic’ face mask and I have been dying to try it out but have put it off until this blog post was up. I had really high hopes for it, especially after trying the ‘Cup O’ Coffee’ face mask and I wasn’t disappointed.

The mask itself contains blueberries and chamomile among other ingredients to calm and cleanse the skin and seeing as I have had the busiest weekend at work, I felt that this was exactly what I needed! The mask itself it quite thick, which did take a bit of time to cover the face but the minute I had put it on, I was in love.

I left the Cup O’ Coffee mask on for about 30 minutes but I only left this one on for about 10 minutes as I found that it did ever so slightly start to crumble. I used my ‘Make Off Mitt’ along with some warm water to remove the make, which came off so easily; and as soon as I did, my skin felt so much cleaner and softer. I was so happy with the way my skin looked and smelt that I am already desperate to try it again.

I can honestly say that Lush’s face masks are my favourites and I can’t wait to try all of the other ones. If you’re looking for a new mask or haven’t tried the Lush ones, I definitely recommend going into a store and having a look.

What’s your favourite Lush face mask?

Lakeside 25th Birthday Event

I was kindly invited to intu Lakeside shopping centre to celebrate their 25th birthday with them. I was so excited as I knew it was going to be a fun filled evening and I was so happy to be apart of Lakeside’s first ever blogger event.

IMG_5419I met up with Lauren and Rachel from theflowerthatblooms beforehand and we headed to the 360 Champagne Lounge, where the event was taking place, where we were greeted by a glass of prosecco and the cutest little bag of sweets. After having plenty of time to mingle with old blogging friends and meeting new ones, we sat down and were told all about the new A/W trends to look out for in the stores, which made me so excited to go shopping haha.

IMG_5423 IMG_5420

We then had even more time to get to know each other before cocktail making. We could pick whatever cocktail we wanted from the menu and then we had the cocktails made for us; I opted to try something new so I went for a cosmopolitan (yes, I’m 22 and never had a cosmo) and it was delicious. While sipping on our cocktails, we were given a master class from Urban Decay, which was probably the best part of the night for me. It was so much fun learning about all the different UD products and how to create the best neutral smokey eye look.

The event was so much fun and it was great to see some familiar faces as well as meeting new ones and I can’t wait for the next Lakeside event!

Balance Me Radiance Face Mask

I love nothing more than giving my face a little pamper and tlc whether that be a deep cleanse or a good face mask. I rediscovered my Radiance Mask from Balance Me, so obviously I had to use it straight away. I was going out for dinner with my best friend on Friday night so it was perfect time to try it out again. After having the most amazing Lush bath, I used the mask before moisturising my skin and carrying on with my make up routine.

The mask itself it very light and the smell is amazing. It aims to ‘polish, hydrate and smooth’ dry, dull looking skin, which, I really think it does. I applied this all over my face and left for about 5 mins before washing it off and straight away, my skin felt a lot softer and looked a lot less lifeless. It made my make up look a lot nicer and I actually felt that it stayed in place for a lot longer, which is always an added bonus.

I’m so glad I rediscovered this mask because it’s made me realise how much I love it! Whats your favourite face mask?

Hampton Court Palace

Yesterday, I went to Hampton Court Palace as it was my sister’s birthday and that is what she wanted to do. I had never been before, but I was super excited to go.

Source: Google

The first thing that really struck me was the size of the buildings; obviously I knew they were going to be grand but the rooms were just enormous, but so beautiful. As we walked into the Base Court, we picked up an audio tour so that we could get all the information as we moved from room to room. I found it fascinating how 500 years ago, the places that I was standing in housed hundred of servants and one of the most famous kings of English history, Henry VIII.

We spent the next couple of hours walking around the grand halls that were covered in portraits, learning about tudor England and about all the ghosts that roam the buildings as well as exploring the beautiful gardens and maze that surround the palace. It was honestly like I had entered a fairytale, it was amazing. (I definitely pretended I was a Disney Princess the whole time haha)

I can’t believe that, considering its not that far from my house, that I had never been before, but I would definitely go back again; there was so much to see and do that it really is such a fun day out

Sanctuary Spa 5 Day Moisture Body Oil

As it gets colder, I find it is extra important to moisturise your skin to stop it becoming dry and snakey; honestly there’s nothing worse right? With this is mind, I was on the hunt for a new body moisturiser which was quite heavy and left my skin feeling soft for a long time. I was in Boots (obviously, I’m always in there) the other day and came across the Sanctuary Spa stand, which had a saving of 1/3 off so obviously I had to see what they had on offer.

I came across the 5 Day Moisture Body Oil which I had never heard of before but seeing as it was the last one, I thought it must be good. That night, after I had my bath, I eagerly put it on. To be honest, the smell isn’t my favourite but it doesn’t linger on your skin for too long so you kind of forget about it but I really love the consistency and formula. It is quite oil based, thanks to the mango seed and apricot oil, which I find  makes it easier to work into your skin and it honestly does leave your skin feeling pampered and moisturised.

If you are looking for a new moisturiser, I would definitely give this one a go, and if it’s still on special offer then why not try it out 🙂

Derma V10 Make Off Mitt

I love the feeling of taking my make up off after a long day; however, some times I really can’t be bothered to spend a lot of time removing it all. When DermaV10 kindly sent me their ‘Make Off Mitt‘ I was so excited to try it out because I’m always looking for ways to cut down my skincare routine.

I’ve never used a mitt to remove make up before so I didn’t really know what to expect but I was pleasantly surprised with the results. The mitt is made up of microfibre material, which, when dampened removes all make up including mascara without the use of cleansers and soaps.

I really felt that all of my make up had come off and my skin felt really clean without being irritated. Once I had finished, I washed the mitt in hot, soapy water and left it to dry so that I can use it again and again. As well as the great results, I couldn’t believe the price. The Make Off Mitt retails for only £1 at Bodycare and other discount retailers.

Have you ever used a mitt to remove your make up? If not, then I definitely recommend picking one up because they are so easy to use and they are great if you don’t want to put a lot of product on your face. Thank you again to DermaV10 for sending me the mitt to try.
