Seekology Event

Who remembers the days before Covid where we could actually go to blogger events? Well I was kindly invited to my first one last night which was hosted by Seekology, a company created to showcase independent British brands and it was fab!

The event was held in Covent Garden ahead of their pop up store which opens today until 19th September to coincide with British Beauty week – so exciting. The store will showcase 25 independent British brands who were all on display for us to get hands on with. There was a complete mix of different products including henna, soy wax candles, natural skincare and pyjamas and each were so uniquely beautiful. As soon as I arrived I was overwhelmed by how pretty everything was set out, each brand had it’s own space to really show off what they were about. I wasted no time in heading for a glass of prosecco so I could get a lay of the land before mingling with the brand owners and other bloggers. It was so interesting and motivating learning about how each brand came to be and how they are succeeding and thriving.

I think the effects of Covid are still very apparent, especially for smaller, independent businesses, so this event was fantastic at bringing them to our radars and making sure they were really celebrated. Each brand was so different from the others but they all had one thing in common, in that they are really exactly what they claim to be, no showing off. I loved every brand but my personal favourite of the evening was Juni Cosmetics which was created by makeup artist Madeleine White and focuses on lip care. The products on show were absolutely beautiful, a full range of classic everyday lipsticks to suite every skin tone. The packaging is also completely recyclable as it is made from aluminium as opposed to plastic so you know that you are doing your part for the environment which is definitely something that is super important to me.

Some of the other brands that are part of the pop up are:

Skin Genius – https://skin-genius.co.uk/

Clarity Blend – https://www.clarityblend.com/

Jenny Betts – https://www.jennybettslondon.co.uk/

Heka Aromatherapy – https://www.hekaaromatherapy.com/

Hopefully this is the start of more regular events again because I didn’t realise just how much I missed it.

South East Bloggers Christmas Event

Here we go, first Christmas themed blogpost for 2018.

On Thursday evening, I was kindly invited to the South East Bloggers’ Christmas event which was held in the Boadicea Bar and Restaurant in Colchester and it was great (even if I did spent 1 hour and a half getting there because I got lost ha!)

As soon as I walked through the door, I was greeted but the lovely girls from Voice Communications and handed a nice cold glass of prosecco; my favourite. The room was absolutely buzzing; filled with bloggers and brands alike and I couldn’t wait to mingle with everyone. I started off talking to a great brand called Be Licious who are an app that allows you to book beauty treatments from beauticians in your local area straight to your door, what a great idea right!

I also headed over to get some cocktail and fudge recipes from the lovely girls at Shaken Udder and got my face covered in pink glitter from Luxurious Glitter. There were a few other brands at the even that were great like Logan’s Plate who offer baby and toddler meals delivered fresh to your door and Big Bobble Hats which, as you’ve guessed, we showcasing some of their amazing bright coloured bobble hats which are perfect for winter.

The whole evening had such a great atmosphere about it and that was partly down to Kiele Lola, who was serenading us all evening with her beautiful voice and fantastic guitar playing. It was also great to catch up with some fellow Essex bloggers – they are such lovely girls.

Thank you again SEBC for inviting me along, I had a great night.

South East Blogger Club Event

Last Thursday, I was kindly invited to the South East Bloggers Club’s latest event; a bloggers and brand networking event. The evening was held at Jump Street in Chelmsford (which is hands down the coolest place to have an event) and was the perfect night to meet up with local bloggers and brands to meet and chat. These events are always my favourite because I love meeting local bloggers and making new friends.

I arrived at the trampoline park completely unaware of what to expect especially as I went on my own; but I was greeted by the lovely girls from SEBC and immediaely felt at ease. To the left, there was a room full of bloggers and brands ready to mingle.

The first brand that I went to see was Happy Fabric where we were able to decorate our own little canvas coin purse/pouches. I like to think I am somewhat creative so this was great for me. On the front I added a decal that said ‘girls just want to have funds’ and on the back I decorated it with a pink glittery H and a few silver glitter flowers. Honestly, there was so many vinyls I could have used but I didn’t want to go too over the top so I had to limit myself.

I then went to speak to the lovely people over at Chelsea Candle Company because duh, who doesn’t love a scented candle. There was so many beautiful scents and I honeslty could have bought them all there and then. They are all made out of Soy wax so the burn time is insane!

The lovely people at Orthosole were also on hand to showcase their amazing orthopedic insole. A few years ago, I had a bit of a fall and tore the ligaments in my right ankle so I was quite excited to have a chat and find out a bit more about their insoles and if they could help when my foot gets a bit sore.

Upon arrival, after we were met with cocktails and prosecco, me and my sister, Holly, scoped out the room to see excatly what was going on. Surrounding the bar in the middle of the room was a space where you could have your makeup done, check out makeup revolution products and as always make your own gif; oh, and how could I forget to mention the wall of doughnuts that you could have your picture taken in front of.

It was so lovely to spend some time with my sister dancing and drinking endless Cosmopolitans and seeing so many familiar faces including the lovely Vixie from http://vixiebeauty.blogspot.co.uk

Makeup Revolution and the whole team know exactly how to host a party and make everyone feel welcome and I’m already looking forward to the next one.
