For those that celebrate, Christmas means different things to different people. I’d thought I’d explore a little more into what it means to me.
I come from a very close family which I am so grateful for because it means that holidays like Christmas are extra special. The most important to me isn’t about presents of gifts but being around the people that mean the most to me; that being said, I absolutely looooove spoiling my family and loved ones with gifts, they all deserve the world.
The whole days is spent surrounded by my favourite people and there is always so much love (and food) around and it’s such a magical time. I think that is why Christmas is my favourite time of the year.
I can’t believe that it is finally time for Blogmas; my favourite time of the blogging year. I absolutely loved doing it last year and didn’t even second think doing it again for 2019. Here’s a little bit of what to expect this time around:
- Gift Guides
- Festive Food
I can’t wait and I hope you can’t too. New posts coming week days at 7pm and weekends at 5pm!
Here we go, first Christmas themed blogpost for 2018.
On Thursday evening, I was kindly invited to the South East Bloggers’ Christmas event which was held in the Boadicea Bar and Restaurant in Colchester and it was great (even if I did spent 1 hour and a half getting there because I got lost ha!)
As soon as I walked through the door, I was greeted but the lovely girls from Voice Communications and handed a nice cold glass of prosecco; my favourite. The room was absolutely buzzing; filled with bloggers and brands alike and I couldn’t wait to mingle with everyone. I started off talking to a great brand called Be Licious who are an app that allows you to book beauty treatments from beauticians in your local area straight to your door, what a great idea right!
I also headed over to get some cocktail and fudge recipes from the lovely girls at Shaken Udder and got my face covered in pink glitter from Luxurious Glitter. There were a few other brands at the even that were great like Logan’s Plate who offer baby and toddler meals delivered fresh to your door and Big Bobble Hats which, as you’ve guessed, we showcasing some of their amazing bright coloured bobble hats which are perfect for winter.
The whole evening had such a great atmosphere about it and that was partly down to Kiele Lola, who was serenading us all evening with her beautiful voice and fantastic guitar playing. It was also great to catch up with some fellow Essex bloggers – they are such lovely girls.
Thank you again SEBC for inviting me along, I had a great night.

I love this time of year, every cliché aspect of it; from cosy nights in with blankets, films and hot chocolate to wandering around Winter Wonderland in the freezing cold drinking copious amounts of mulled wine.
I was talking to my friends about the little things we do every Christmas time and it got me thinking about all of the traditions that I have.
Decorating The Tree
I’m a bit sad about this one this year because it’s now 9th December and I still haven’t put mine up yet but…
Decorating the tree is one of my favourite things to do; nothing beats having it lit up in the corner of the lounge while you sit watching ‘Elf’ for the gazillionth time. Our tree is alway full of different decorations which including little hand made ones me and my sister made and 4 snowflakes that represent the 4 of us. We never really have a colour scheme but I wouldn’t change it. Usually, mum and I will put on a Christmas film and get to work. Well I say work; mum puts the tree together and adds the lights; I just stand there and wait to unleash the decorations.
You know it’s Christmas time when Winter Wonderland opens in Hyde Park. I try to go at least once every year as it really gets me in the festive mood and it’s so much fun. I love looking around the market stalls at peoples hand made crafts, eating an unreal amount of food, drinking all the mulled wine and hot chocolate and going on the rides. It never fails to disappoint and I’m so excited to go next weekend with all of my favourite people.
We have so many things that we do on Christmas Eve, which we have been doing since I was little. One of them is brand new pyjamas! Mum and Dad would always treat me and my sister to a new pair of holiday pjs and still to this day, it’s one of the things that I look forward to the most.
Usually, once I have had a Lush bath and go into said new pyjamas, it’s then time to get into bed and watch all the Christmas movies. Well, I say all the movies, it’s more like 1 before I fall asleep.
Have you got any Christmas traditions?

Christmas is my favourite time of the year and I Love nothing more than going into London to see all the decorations and pretty lights. My top places to go are Oxford Street and Winter Wonderland as they always make me feel the most festive through there decorations, music and complete ambiance.
During the week I went to Oxford Street while one of my best friends was over from Spain. We decided to have the ultimate Christmas day in the city so of course we started off with a trip to Costa to try some of their winter drinks; I opted for the Gingerbread latte as it is my favourite and Alex went for the Honeycomb latte. It was the perfect way to warm up on a brisk Wintery afternoon. We then continued the rest of the day wondering around Oxford street looking at all the lights and decorations that cover the streets.
Every year I try and make it to Winter Wonderland at least once. This year, I went with some of my cousins, mum and one of my aunts. It was such a lovely day browsing the market stalls, listening to Christmas music and drinking lots of mulled wine. I love going during the afternoon and staying till it gets dark so that you can see everything lit up; its so pretty. Working in the dreaded world of retail means that it can be difficult to get into the Christmas spirit but this definitely helped. It was so great to just sit and catch up with my family as we don’t often get to all see each other as much as we’d like. I loved it so much, I’m determined to make it an annual tradition.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year
Can you believe that Christmas is only 2 weeks away! It’s coming around so quickly. If you’re anything like me, then you still haven’t finished your shopping so to make things a bit easier, I have searched the internet for some great stocking fillers for £10 or under. These also work great for secret santa presents too!
- Zoella ‘Deck the Baubles’ shower gel – £5
- Grey Snowflake Bow Side Hot Water Bottle – £7.49
- Soap and Glory ‘Take Your Pink’ gift set – £10
- Zoella ‘Gingerbread Village’ scented candle – £10
- 365 Days Colouring Book – £6.99
Mentioning the big C word this early in the year is pretty strange but companies and brands are already beginning to showcase all of the goodies they have coming out over the festive periods. I was kindly invited two ‘Christmas in July’ events; one for Tesco and the other for Not On The Highstreet; both of which, I must admit have now made me so excited for December and the festive season.
The Not On The Highstreet event showcased a while host of products from Chocolates that are shaped like Brussel Sprouts, glittery cushions and Prosecco themed Christmas jumpers. My personal favourite were the rose gold martini glasses that decorated the long dining table in the centre of the room. There was so much selection for everyone including men and children which I thought was great as it really gave you a good view of what NOTHS have coming on their site. Each room that you went into was escorted with Christmas trees and other decorations and the quite hum of Christmas songs couldn’t help but make you feel a little bit excited.
The Tesco event was slightly different as it focused a lot on the food, which I definitely thought was great. The event was designed to take you through the stages of Christmas from the night before, the morning and the evening when everyone finds themselves way too full and asleep on the sofa. It was great to learn about all the new food and treats that are making their way into stores and to be able to try them. I don’t want to give too much away but all I’m going to say is red velvet muffins! Again, it was so surreal to be walking around trying turkey and stuffing, listening to Christmas music while it was boiling hot outside but it did make me feel super festive. I even had my first mince pie of the year!
Thank you so much to NOTHS and Tesco for inviting me to come along and see what great things are coming from you both!

Have you finished all your Christmas shopping yet?
Christmas is probably my favourite time of the year; so when Voice Communications invited me to visit Intu Lakeside’s Christmas street, I couldn’t say yes quick enough.
This year, Intu Lakeside have gone bigger and better with helping customers get into the festive spirit by creating ‘Christmas Street’ which makes you feel as though you are wondering around the winter markets in Germany.
As you walk out of the centre, you are greeted by the sounds of Christmas music and obviously some Frozen songs thrown in too; which fits in nicely with the giant Frozen snow globe that you get into for a photo with Anna, Elsa and Olaf.
There are also game stands and rides for Children which looked so fun, but being 22, it wasn’t exactly acceptable to have a go haha. As well as rides, and games, there are lots of stalls around the outside which sell all the things you expect from a Christmas market including; mulled wine and beer, bratwurst and burgers, crepes and hot chocolate and probably my favourite stand, the sweet stand!
Of course, it wouldn’t be complete without Santa’s Grotto but this year, Intu Lakeside have really upped their game. Not only is the grotto in the shape of a cute little cottage but the inside waiting area is all interactive to keep kids entertained while they wait, which isn’t usually any longer than 10 minutes!
After seeing Santa, we wondered around the area to see exactly what was on offer, so obviously I went straight to the sweets and chocolate. I had the nicest hot chocolate I have ever had, I’m not even joking; it was Cadbury hot chocolate, topped with whipped cream and gingerbread. I’m actually craving some right now!
It was such a lovely night, such a good atmosphere and it was so nice to meet Michelle from MichelleLousieLove. Thanks again for the invitation Voice Communications!
