Makeup Revolution Birthday Party

Every year Makeup Revolution host an amazing birthday party tha is probably my favourite event of the year and this years didn’t disappoint. Held at the beautiful venue of One in Marlybone, the party was everything I could have dreamed of and more.

Upon arrival, after we were met with cocktails and prosecco, me and my sister, Holly, scoped out the room to see excatly what was going on. Surrounding the bar in the middle of the room was a space where you could have your makeup done, check out makeup revolution products and as always make your own gif; oh, and how could I forget to mention the wall of doughnuts that you could have your picture taken in front of.

It was so lovely to spend some time with my sister dancing and drinking endless Cosmopolitans and seeing so many familiar faces including the lovely Vixie from http://vixiebeauty.blogspot.co.uk

Makeup Revolution and the whole team know exactly how to host a party and make everyone feel welcome and I’m already looking forward to the next one.

Makeup Revolution Halloween Party

HAPPY HALLOWEEN! 🎃👻

Being the ultimate wuss, Halloween is one of my least favourite holidays (after Valentine’s Day) but of course I couldn’t turn down an invite to the best Halloween party of the year, Makeup Revolution’s Halloween party.

Every year MUR, hold, hands down the best party and this year was no exception. The party was held at One in Marylebone and from the minute I arrived I knew it was going to be amazing. Upon arrival, me and my sister; Holly, we’re greeted with a choice of drinks from wine to special ‘Bloodtini’s’ and other cocktails. The room was full with all kinds of spooky decorations like coffins which displayed Halloween makeup on, to a long table full of spiders and pumpkins.

Upstairs led to the ‘Creepy Convent’ which was full of actors walking around scaring everyone. Honestly, I spent the first 10 minutes standing with my back to the wall because I was so scared, but it was actually so much fun.23030912_10155912893379244_732086262_o

The whole night was spent dancing and catching up with my sister who I don’t get to see nearly as much as I’d like to as she’s away at uni doing her Masters. It was great to also catch up with Sophie who I met at MUR’s birthday party earlier in the year.

First Impression // Makeup Revolution Retro Luxe Kits

img_8315

I’m a huge Makeup Revolution fan so when I saw that they had released a lip kit of their own, I knew I had to get my hands on them. I never bothered with the Kylie lip kits because to be brutally honest, I think they are so overrated and not worth the money let alone all the customs and shipping charges.

I was wondering around Superdrug and found a few of the Retro Luxe kits hidden in a side display; unfortunately, they were all the same shade so I just picked up one (but I’ll probably order the rest online). I have never been the biggest fan of matte lip products so I wasn’t really sure what to expect but I was pleasantly surprised. The formula of both the liner and the liquid lipstick was so creaming and nourishing and didn’t leave my lips feeling dry at all.

When it came to cleaning the swatch off my arm, I did actually have a bit of trouble which was such a good sign because I knew it would stay on my lips for a long time, even through eating and drinking. The only downfall, which actually isn’t a downfall at all, is that the shade I got doesn’t suit my skin tone too well but that didn’t stop me from loving the product and wanting to try out all the other shades.

Have you tried the Makeup Revolution lip kits?

Makeup Revolution Party

Its no lie that Makeup Revolution is one of my favourite makeup brands so when I got invited to celebrate their second birthday party in London, I jumped at the chance.

The party was held at Cafe de Paris in Central London which was honestly the prettiest place I have ever been; it was like something out of The Great Gatsby. I arrived at the venue for the first section of the evening which was Afternoon Tea where we were met with fizzy elderflower and canapés.Around the outside of the room, there were booths which were laid out with new and soon to be launched products from Makeup Revolution and its sister brands; Freedom, I love makeup and Colourless. It was so much fun learning about each brand, their products and of course swatching them all!

After trying out and lusting after all of the new products, I spent the next hour or so talking to the other bloggers and trying out their GIF making Photo Booth. I bumped into some familiar faces and met some lovely people including Annie and Brogan. Also Makeup Revolution’s founder Adam bought his pug Blondie so I spent an unhealthy amount of time with her thinking of ways I could smuggle her home because she was the cutest thing I had ever seen.

7pm quickly rolled around and the party was really getting into full swing with more canapés and cocktails (which were so scummy). We had been told that there was a special announcement so we were all excitedly waiting for the news. Adam said a lovely speech about the brand and how it has achieved great success in such a small amount of time and it was great to see how much love and effort is behind such a fantastic company. The time finally rolled around and were told what the announcement was; Makeup Artists, get excited.

Freedom are hosting a competition called #IAmFreedom, launching in April where Makeup Artists will battle it out in live challenges to win a place in the live final which will be judged by 3 celebrity judges. Four runners up will each win £1,000 and the winner will receive £10,00, a year’s supply of Freedom makeup and a year long partnership deal with Freedom! How amazing does that sound? But it gets better; on the night, team Superdrug said they would match the prizes so the runners up will receive £2,000 and the winner will win £20,000!

After all of the speeches and announcements were over, it was time to continue the party which was DJ’ed by Scott Mills from Radio 1! At the end of the night, we were gifted an amazing goody bag with lots of Revolution and Freedom goodies which I will definitely be doing a review on. Also Makeup Revolution now have an App which you can download to get news, updates and special offers!

Makeup Revolution Fixing Spray

makeup-revolution--fijador-del-maquillaje-en-spray--pro-fix-100ml-1.jpg

I always find it such a struggle to get my makeup to stay put all day, especially without a setting spray. I’ve tried setting sprays from Urban Decay, NYX and MAC but I wanted to see what else was out there.

I’ve been a fan of Makeup Revolution for such a long time and when I saw they sold fixing sprays, I knew I needed to get my hands on one especially considering they are only £5! After hunting high and low for a normal spray and not the oil control one, I finally got my hands on one and couldn’t wait to try it.

I was honestly so happy when I tried this product, it doesn’t take too long to dry into my skin and it keeps my make up in place all day. I was worried that because it didn’t have ‘oil control’, it was going to feel heavy and make my face look shiny, but it gives just the right about of dewiness. I have also noticed that if I prime my face with the Nivea Post Shave Balm and then use the spray, my makeup looks great all day and it stays just that little bit longer.

I’m so in love with the fixing spray and I know that it is going to be a constant repurchase for me! Have you ever tried the Makeup Revolution’s Fixing Sprays?
